EAST GREENSBORO, N.C. – September 23, 2024 – Preservation Greensboro Incorporated (PGI), Greensboro’s leading nonprofit focused on saving historic sites and neighborhoods, is proud to announce Kimberly Cameron has been elected as the new president of the Preservation Greensboro board of directors.
For more than 50 years, Preservation Greensboro Incorporated (PGI), a nonprofit organization, has been dedicated to preserving Greensboro’s rich architectural heritage. By offering resources and support, PGI has played a key role in fostering the city’s tradition of adaptive reuse, renovation and sustainability. Through educational tours, special events, seminars and publications, PGI continues to promote the appreciation and preservation of Greensboro’s distinctive architecture and neighborhoods.
Kimberly Cameron has served as the N.C. A&T Real Estate Foundation executive director for the past five years. She has demonstrated exceptional leadership while also serving as treasurer for The Durham (NC) Chapter of The Links Foundation, Incorporated, and was elected as the Southern Area Representative last year. Recently completing her term as president of Piedmont-Triad Commercial Real Estate for Women (PTCREW), and chair of the Durham Planning Commission. In addition to these roles, Cameron mentors with Campus Greensboro and holds board positions with various other nonprofit organizations.
“As the newly elected board president of Preservation Greensboro, I am honored to lead an organization that has made such a meaningful impact on our community for so many years,” said Cameron. “I truly appreciate the dedication and hard work of our members, volunteers and supporters who have helped preserve Greensboro’s unique architectural heritage and foster a sense of place.”
Kimberly Cameron has been on the Preservation Greensboro board of directors since 2020 and will serve a one-year term as president. Joining Kimberly on the executive committee, the board of directors also elected Ginny Olson as vice president and Tahe Zalal as board secretary during the last board meeting. Sarah Ferrell, Jeff Parsons and Anna Scott Pulliam were elected as new board members for two-year terms. Susan Moye will continue to serve as treasurer and Sunny Gravely as immediate past president.
